It looks like we’ve gone from speculating whether we’re headed into recession depression, to speculating just what that depression is going to look like. Yihong Ding, over on the Thinking Space blog,predicts that we’ll have a “Golden Age” of the Web thanks to millions sitting at home with little else to do than putter around on the Web:

Posted by: Anonymous [ip: 69.244.98.225] on November 19, 2008 06:48 PMOne small problem, you may get eyeballs, but you won't get purchases from unemployed people, so while there will (likely) be an inital jump in ad revenue, when the dismal click-through/buying rates become apparent, advertising rates should go down, as each impression is likely an unemployed browser with no money to spend...
